Your First Visit
Your first visit is an important time to get to know us and to understand how, together, we can enhance and maintain your overall dental health. During this time, we will examine your entire mouth, take any necessary radiographs (X-rays) and work with you to develop a treatment plan that will help ensure your beautiful smile for a lifetime.
We will introduce you to our intraoral camera so that you can see exactly what your doctor sees. You will also receive digital radiographs (X-rays) that produce the highest quality images with the least exposure possible. You may also bring or email bitewing X-rays taken less than a year ago and large panoramic X-rays taken less than three years ago.
We will present all of our findings to you regarding your oral health and will make recommendations for any treatment. It is important to share any questions or concerns you may have before we move forward with your personalized treatment. After your initial comprehensive examination, you will receive a professional cleaning by one of our hygienists.

Meet the Staff
Doctor of Dental Surgery
Dr. Stuart Huntsman
Dr. Huntsman enjoys providing Lafayette residents with exceptionally comfortable, lasting dental care. His favorite aspects of dentistry include esthetic cases, implants, and general dentistry for all ages. His patients appreciate his personal approach, as together they build and maintain beautiful smiles.
Dr. Huntsman and his wife have four amazing children . Outside of the office, Dr. Huntsman loves to spend time with his family, exercise, hunt, fish, and work on his family’s small farm. He has also devoted time to taking mission trips to provide people around the globe with compassionate dental care.
Dr. Huntsman attended LSU in Baton Rouge to receive his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and attended LSU in New Orleans to receive his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Dr. Huntsman is a member of the American Dental Association and the Louisiana Dental Association, and is an active participant in a local dental study club. He has also trained at the Pankey Institute and the Dawson Academy.
Dental Assistant
Shelby Menard, EDDA
Shelby received her dental assistant certification from Southwest Dental Academy in 2016. She started with Dr. Huntsman during her clinicals and earned her Expanded Duty Dental Assistant certification in 2016. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband Blaine and their two boys, Bently and Archer. She also helps her husband with his business, Menards Southern Specialty and Processing. She is very happy and blessed to be a part of Huntsman Dental.
Dental Assistant
Sangel
Sangel is from Forked Island, LA. She graduated from Erath High School in 2004. Sangel began her career as a medical assistant and joined the dental field in 2018. She has worked with Dr. Huntsman since 2022.
Sangel has a wonderful son, Brock. What she enjoys most is taking care of her family and spending time with close friends. She loves arts and crafts and relaxing with a good book or series to watch. Sangel is blessed to be a part of Huntsman Dental.
Lauren
Lauren joined Huntsman Dental in 2024. She graduated high school in 2017 and was a preschool teacher until joining the medical/dental field in 2021. Lauren is originally from Scott and now resides in Youngsville with her family. In her free time, she enjoys spending being outdoors with her kids, trying new restaurants, and sipping on an iced coffee. Lauren is very grateful to be a part of the Huntsman Dental family.
Receptionist
Corinne
Corinne has been a receptionist at Huntsman Dental since May 2024. She is originally from Kaplan, LA and currently resides there. She is enrolled at ULL, pursuing a degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Pre-Professional studies. Her goal after college is to become a Physician’s Assistant. In her free time, she enjoys staying active and spending time with family and friends. Corinne is very grateful to be part of the Huntsman Dental team.
Dental Hygienist
Logan
Logan is a dedicated dental hygienist with over 5 years of experience in providing comprehensive dental hygiene care. She attended the University of Louisiana at Monroe and graduated as a Registered Dental Hygienist in May of 2020. She believes in a gentle and compassionate approach to dental care and strives to make each patient's visit comfortable and informative. Outside of the office, Logan enjoys spending time with her husband, Conner, and her daughter, Emmie. She also enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, and watching the latest Netflix series. She is very blessed to be a part of the Huntsman Dental Team.
Markie
Markie is from Kaplan, LA. She began her career as a dental assistant in 2013. She graduated from SLCC in general studies in 2017. She received her Dental Hygiene degree in 2020 from Lamar University. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends. She is thankful to be a part of the Huntsman Dental Team.

Heaven Leblanc
Heaven Leblanc is a dedicated Dental Assistant from Abbeville, LA. She began her journey in the dental field in August of 2024, attending the Academy of Acadiana. Driven by passion for helping others, Heaven chose this career to empower patients to smile confidently and ease the common anxieties associated with dental visits. She takes great pride in her work and is committed to continuously learning and growing professionally.
